What is KAGURA? VOL.2 “KAGURA’s Present and Future

Dear members of the JAPAN DAO family
Hello☆!
In this article, following the birth of KAGURA, the manga “Kagukomi” is being developed from KAGURA NFT.
We will dig deeper into its story and the characters that appear in it.
We will also look at the current status of “KAGURA”, which has evolved into various contents such as music and animation, as well as the future of “KAGURA” as it further strengthens its IP.

KAGURA’s Story

The story is about four female members of a “Japanese culture study club” at a private Natsuko Gakuen high school, and a “god” fox who for some reason lives as a student with them, with the goal of “conveying Japanese culture to many people, including people overseas and children in Japan!

The club deepens its learning through hands-on experience of ancient Japanese customs and traditional seasonal events by making costumes and tools by hand together and visiting local places.

The slightly mysterious and peaceful daily life of these women is soothing and nostalgic, as if they are recovering something that Japanese people have almost forgotten!

I am sure that foreign audiences and children will find it fresh and interesting!

Characters

There are five main characters, including Saki Amamiya, Rinka Saionji, Ao Shinonome, and the god Ina Tsukumo!

Each character has a unique appearance and personality, and is full of charm!
You’re sure to find your favorite!
There are still many mysterious settings, and we are looking forward to seeing more of them revealed in the manga and other publications in the future!

The names of the main characters were chosen by Mina Tojo and the editorial staff from the “KAGURA Character Naming Project” that was held on Twitter at the same time as the release of KAGURA (NFT).
The names were all excellent and suited to the characteristics and atmosphere of the characters, and now that the characters have names, they have become attached to their individual characters and can enjoy KAGURA even more.

MANGA (comic)

Could this be a textbook of Japanese culture? Kagukomi

One of the most important contents of the KAGURA project is the manga “Kagukomi.
The four-frame manga series started in December 2022 on the X (Twitter) platform, and as of May 14, 2024, has been serialized up to its 22nd episode.

The series is being produced by a team of experienced official creators led by Editor-in-Chief Sae Taki (@taki_sae) in the editorial department of the NFT Museum of Japan.

You can enjoy learning about Japanese culture through the words and actions of the girls as they interact in the activities of their club!
In particular, the point-by-point explanations by “Inachan,” a god who has probably been watching over Japan since ancient times, are especially compelling.

Each installment is created by a different creator, and the style varies. It is a very tasteful series.

I can’t help but get excited imagining children holding them in their hands as textbooks for learning about Japanese culture in the near future!

The series is updated once or twice a month, alternating with other character-branded manga (updates are on Tuesdays).

MUSIC

Nomakun (@NomakunGo)

The theme song for KAGURA, “One Thought” was released before the release of KAGURA (NFT) and continues to enliven KAGURA to this day.

The song is produced and sung by Nomakun (artist name: SHO-GO), an official creator of the NFT Museum of Japan. In addition to creating and managing the original NFT collection, he is a very versatile creator who is involved in a wide range of genres, including game development, music production, and singing.

The theme song “One Thought” has been distributed on Apple Music and various other music platforms, receiving high praise and attention.
The song, which starts with “Hanakairo no Koroi ni Kimi wo Soukou Koi” (Love Clothes for Kimi in the Time of Hanakairoi), is a song about a single-minded, heartrending love, with beautiful Japanese-style words sprinkled throughout.
Nomakun’s lyrical singing strongly evokes the feelings of elegant and lovely girls, and the world view of KAGURA can be fully felt.

ANIMATION

It is expected that not only “KAGURA” but also all of JAPAN DAO’s character brands will be animated.

KAGURA” in particular is expected to become the most important IP in the regional development measures to be implemented in the future, in addition to transmitting “Japanese culture” to the world!
We are convinced that “beautiful girls of overwhelming quality” will be even more popular both domestically and internationally, and will be a great success.

The official animation is already being broadcast on large screens in four locations in Tokyo (Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Roppongi), and we will be keeping a close eye on the progress of each brand in the future!

They play a major role as a means of greeting and communication within the community.
