1. What Is Rocket Perp? — Smart Pocket’s New Perpetual Trading Feature
Let’s start by explaining what Rocket Perp is.
Rocket Perp is a perpetual trading feature that can be accessed through Smart Pocket on Solana. A perpetual — or Perp — is a type of futures trading with no fixed expiration date. Instead of buying the asset itself like spot trading, users take a position based on whether they think the price will go up or down, with the option to trade using leverage.
- Long — Choose this when you think the price will go up
- Short — Choose this when you think the price will go down
Rocket Perp is operated by connecting your Phantom wallet.
Deposits are made in SOL, which Smart Pocket automatically converts into USDC and credits to your Rocket Balance.
In other words, your balance is managed in USDC, but all you need to prepare is the SOL you already have. The actual Rocket Balance is held on Hyperliquid, while Smart Pocket functions as the gateway that allows users to access it.
This means you can experience full-scale perpetual trading directly from the familiar Smart Pocket UI.
“Choose your direction, launch your position, and ride the rocket.”
That tagline is exactly what the Rocket Perp experience is all about.
2. How to Read the Vertical Rocket UI — Intuitive Short / Long Controls

The most distinctive feature of Rocket Perp is its vertical rocket chart UI. Since it looks very different from a typical trading screen, it’s important to understand the basics first.
- Left side = SHORT / Right side = LONG
The screen is divided into two color-coded sides. - Rocket in the center
A 🚀 icon floats at the current price position. - Vertical axis = Time
Time moves from bottom to top, and price movement is drawn as the rocket’s trajectory. - Price and 24h change at the top
The current price of the selected asset, such as $61,331.5, and its 24-hour change are displayed in real time. - Line / Candle toggle
You can switch between a line chart and candlestick chart. - Wallet address in the top right
Tap it to open a panel showing your balance, PT, and menu options. - Bottom tabs: “Active Missions” / “Pending Launches”
In Rocket Perp, each trade is called a Mission. You can switch between ongoing and pending missions from these tabs.
When you do not have an open position, a single “Start Trading” button appears at the bottom of the screen. Once you begin trading, this changes into two buttons: “Short” and “Long.” Tap your preferred direction to proceed to the order panel.
After opening a position, a profit/loss bar appears at the top, showing your unrealized PnL as both a percentage and amount, along with your PT display.
The rocket trajectory changes color depending on whether your position is in profit or loss: green for profit and pink for loss. An “Entry” marker also appears in the center to show your entry price, making it easy to understand at a glance which direction you are betting on and how much you have committed.
3. Supported Assets — BTC Is Live Now, More Assets Coming Soon
You can switch trading pairs by tapping the asset name at the top of the screen, such as BTC / USDT, and selecting an asset from “Select Asset.”
At the time of writing, six assets are listed. Only BTC is currently live and marked as ACTIVE, while the others are shown as Coming Soon.

- BTC Perp — ACTIVE / Up to 40x
- ETH Perp — Coming Soon / Up to 25x
- SOL Perp — Coming Soon / Up to 20x
- XRP Perp — Coming Soon / Up to 20x
- HYPE Perp — Coming Soon / Up to 10x
- DOGE Perp — Coming Soon / Up to 10x
When you switch assets, the chart, price display, balance check, and order panel all update for the selected asset. Prices are updated approximately every 60 seconds.
For now, Rocket Perp starts with BTC, with major assets expected to be unlocked one by one in the future.
4. How PT Works — Earn Points Regardless of Profit or Loss
What makes Rocket Perp different from a standard trading tool is that you can earn PT every time you trade. PT is awarded for eligible trades regardless of whether the trade ends in profit or loss.
The rule is very simple:
PT = Position Size × 0.1
In other words, you earn 1 PT for every $10 in position size.
For example:
- A $1,000 position earns +100 PT
- A $5,000 position earns +500 PT
One of Rocket Perp’s key features is that PT is awarded for eligible closed trades regardless of profit or loss.
5. Getting Started — Your First Trade in 7 Steps
The official “How to Trade” guide breaks down the process for making your first trade into 7 steps.
These steps follow the same order as the actual trading screen, so you can simply go through them from top to bottom.
Step 1: How to Access Rocket Perp

- Select “Home”
- Scroll down the page and select “Perp”
- Click the “ROCKET TRADING” icon
Step 2: Connect Phantom Wallet
Tap “Connect” or “Connect with Phantom”, then approve the Phantom pop-up.
Once connected, this wallet will be used for deposits, withdrawals, and order approvals.

Step 3: Add Rocket Balance — Deposit Funds
Select the “≡” icon in the top right, then choose “Deposit.”

You can choose from several deposit methods, such as USDC, USDT, or SOL. In this guide, we’ll use SOL as an example.

Enter the amount of SOL you want to deposit. Make sure it meets the minimum requirement of 0.12 SOL. After tapping “Deposit SOL to Rocket,” approve the transaction in Phantom.

After approval, Rocket processes the deposit in the following order:
- Approve in Phantom — Approve the transaction in Phantom
- Confirming deposit — Confirming the deposit
- Converting SOL → USDC — Converting SOL into USDC (approximately 10–30 seconds)
- Adding to Rocket Balance — Adding the converted amount to your Rocket Balance
- Complete — Deposit complete

Once the process is complete, your Rocket Balance will be updated and shown as “Available to Trade 100.0%,” meaning the balance is ready to be used for trading.
⚠️ As shown by the message “Verifying deposit… (usually 30 sec – 3 min),” it may take around 30 seconds to 3 minutes for the deposit to be reflected. The estimated USD amount is only a reference. The final amount will be confirmed after the conversion process is completed.
Step 4: Start Trading — Approve the Trading Session
Before placing a live order, tap “Start Trading” once.
Phantom will ask you to approve the trading session. After you approve it, you will be able to place orders from this browser.

⚠️ If the network is congested during approval, you may see the message “Builder fee approval failed … Please retry shortly.”
In that case, tap “Retry start trading,” wait a moment, and try again.
You may also need to approve the trading session again if you change browsers, clear your storage, or if your session expires.
Step 5: Set Amount and Leverage

Tap Long or Short to open the order panel. Here, you will configure the following items:

- Amount / Margin
The large number in the center, such as $1, represents the amount of Rocket Balance you will use for the position.
Below it, you’ll see BALANCE and “Balance used ○%.” You can also use quick buttons such as 25%, 50%, or Max to set the amount instantly.

- Leverage
You can adjust leverage using the slider from 1x to 40x, or use quick buttons such as ×2, ×10, and MAX.
Based on your leverage, the position size is calculated automatically.
For example: Long $40.00 = 0.00063 BTC

- Liquidation Price
The liquidation line for your selected leverage is displayed in real time.
For example: $61,842.8 at 40x, or $57,582.4 at 10x

- Earn ○ PT
The estimated PT you can earn from this position is shown as a preview.
For positions under $20, this may appear as “—”.

- Fees and warning labels
Estimated fees such as “total fee” and “Rocket app fee 0.050%” are displayed near the bottom.
When using high leverage, a “High risk” warning will also appear.
Position Size = Amount × Leverage
The higher the leverage, the faster both profits and losses can move. If you’re new to Rocket Perp, it’s best to start with smaller position sizes.
Step 6: Choose Long or Short — Select Your Direction and Place the Order
If you think the price will go up, choose Long. If you think the price will go down, choose Short.
Confirm your order using the “↑ Long BTC” or “↓ Short BTC” button at the bottom of the order panel. Before confirming, make sure to check the amount, leverage, direction, and liquidation price one more time.

Once the order is successful, a rocket animation will appear on the screen, confirming that your position has been opened. Your entry price will be shown on the chart as an “Entry” line, along with a price movement banner.
This means your rocket has been “launched,” and your mission is now active.

By expanding “Active Missions” at the bottom of the screen, you can view detailed information about your current position, such as Margin, Position Value, Liquidation, and Funding.
Step 7: Close the Position
Once your position is open, the top of the screen will display your unrealized P/L as both a percentage and amount, your PT display, and the “Entry” marker on the chart.
Keep an eye on price movement while being mindful of the Liquidation Price.

When you want to take profit or cut your loss, tap the “Close Long” or “Close Short” button at the bottom of the screen. The button will also show your current profit or loss.
After the close order is submitted, the result will be confirmed with a banner such as “Mission Complete · Closed Long · +$○.”
✅ You can start your next trade, or “Mission,” only after your current position has been fully closed.
6. Checking Trading History and Rankings
After completing a trade, users can check their own trading history within the system, as well as view the current ranking information.

② Select Mission Log.

In the rankings, you can check your own performance within the event, as well as your current position.
7. Risks and Precautions — Understand Leverage and Liquidation Properly
Rocket Perp is leveraged trading. While it allows you to open a larger position with a smaller amount of funds, losses can also increase just as quickly. Make sure you understand this before trading.
- Why P/L moves quickly
Leverage creates a position larger than your deposited amount, so even a small price movement can cause a large change in profit or loss. - What Liquidation means
If your losses reach the allowed margin limit, your position will be automatically force-closed. In some cases, you may lose the funds you deposited. - Mark Price
The Mark Price is a fair price calculated from multiple exchanges. It is used to determine P/L and liquidation. This mechanism helps prevent price manipulation.
To reduce liquidation risk, the official guide recommends the following basics:
- Use lower leverage
- Keep each trade size small
- Set a Stop Loss before entering a position
- Do not put your entire balance into one position
- Monitor your position regularly
Setting TP(Take Profit) and SL(Stop Loss) is optional, but SL is strongly recommended because it can automatically close your position when the price moves against you.
After opening a position, always check your unrealized P/L, liquidation price, position size, and the status of the Close button. If you are unsure, closing the position early is the safer choice.
⚠️ Warning: Leveraged trading carries the risk of losing your entire investment principal. Please participate at your own risk and only use funds you can afford to lose.
